Maker Treasure Box Raffle – Autism Awareness Fundraiser

A One-of-a-Kind Collaboration from the Maker Community

This handcrafted Walnut Keepsake Maker Treasure Box represents something far greater than a woodworking project. It represents a community coming together to support a meaningful cause.

Each April, we host Makers for a Cause, a fundraiser during Autism Awareness Month to support a local South Florida special needs school that serves children with autism.

Having a daughter who is autistic and non-verbal has opened our eyes to the additional needs they have. While they may not speak with words, we believe deeply that every child deserves a voice, however that may look to them. The funds raised from this event help provide communication tools, technology, and resources that empower these students to express themselves and connect with the world around them.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of this incredible maker community, we raised $4,000 for the school. This year, we hope to make an even bigger impact.

The Maker Treasure Box

This figured walnut keepsake box, built by hand in my shop, was crafted using beautifully figured hardwood generously donated by Cali Hardwoods, a company that wanted to support the cause after sharing how autism has touched their own family.

The box itself is a work of craftsmanship designed to last for generations. But what makes it truly special is what’s inside.

This treasure box will be filled with handmade items donated by talented makers from across the community.

Each piece represents a maker who chose to donate their time, skill, and creativity to help support this cause.

Inside the box you’ll find 10+ one-of-a-kind handmade items, which may include pieces such as:

• Custom handmade screwdriver
• Art pieces
• Handmade accessories
• Small functional home items

Every item inside this box is handcrafted and unique, making this truly a one-of-a-kind collection you won’t find anywhere else.

Why This Matters

Every raffle entry directly supports a local South Florida special needs school, helping fund tools and technology that allow non-verbal children to communicate and learn.

This is not a distant charity, it’s a place we know personally and where we can see the real impact of the support from this community.
